Al-Ettifaq hosted FC Bunyodkor (Uzbekistan) as part of the AFC Champions League and we put on a good show with a 4-0 victory with two goals from Prince Tagoe, one from Salleh Basheer and a lovely taken free kick by Waleed Al-Raja!
Rivaldo the famous Brazilian who formerly played for Barcelona was playing for FC Bunyodkor. He was honoured as FIFA World Player of the Year and European Footballer of the Year in 1999. He was also named by Pelé as one of the 125 Greatest Living Footballers at a FIFA Awards Ceremony in 2004.
We topped our group and are now through to the AFC Champions League 2009 round of 16. Go Ettifaq!
